We care about our cattle
At Kilcoy Pastoral Company we believe the considerate treatment and humane handling of our livestock is our obligation.
We are committed to providing the highest level of animal welfare.
We comply with the Australian Meat Industry Councils (AMIC) Animal Welfare Standards for Livestock Processing Establishments and are audited annually as part of our quality management program.
We have developed and implemented operating procedures for the management of our livestock, and our facilities and equipment are designed and maintained to minimise stress.
Our processing facility has an on-site rendering plant that converts waste into stable, value-added co-products including:
- Meat & Bone Meal
- Blood Meal
- Concentrated Gall

All of our livestock handlers are fully trained and competent to AMIC standards ensuring our cattle are treated with respect and receive the quality of care we demand.
This livestock processing establishment is certified under the Australian Livestock Processing Industry Animal Welfare Certification System – an independently certified animal welfare system that ensures livestock under our control from receival to humane processing are managed in accordance with best practice animal welfare standards.
We only purchase premium quality, 100 day grain-fed cattle with a preferred dress weight of 350kg.
We require our grain-fed cattle suppliers to be accredited under the National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme, ensuring their compliance with animal welfare, environment, food safety and product integrity legislation.
